Something Good

I was an Ndoto student by the grace of God. I graduated last December with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University.

I was born and raised in the Obunga slum in Kisumu, Kenya. I got sponsored by Ndoto in 2010, when I was joining high school. Life was not easy before I got a sponsorship. Most people believed that nothing good could come from a slum. I am glad that I can stand firm and give a testimony: Ndoto saw an opportunity for something good from this slum.

I salute all the Ndoto staff for the job well done. I am pleased that Ndoto is not just an organization that educates but also, as Christ-centered, it helps in discipleship and spiritual growth. This was another gift I got from Ndoto.

I would like to thank Ms. Allison for welcoming me in the program – because of her passion and determination she has achieved a lot. Her main objective was to develop youth like me to pursue their dreams and transform their community. Thank you to my sponsors, Rachel M. and Julie C., for the continuous support and prayers. It kept me going. May God bless you more and more to continue blessing other students to achieve their ultimate dreams to change the state of the Obunga community.

I am now empowered by Ndoto to became a community leader of tomorrow by getting involved in community development activities. I am looking forward to paying back what I received as a borrower. May God bless Ndoto and my community.

Thanks a million,
Maureen Amondi
