Campus Dream

In 2022, we accomplished a long-time dream of opening our own private Christian school. Ndoto Academy is a separate program from our longstanding sponsorship program, which continues with more than 300 students throughout the country from first grade through university. Through our school, Ndoto provides a high-quality, Christian education to children in the area while creating jobs, promoting sustainable development, making disciples, and giving hope in a community in dire need of it.

We now have 115 students in pre-school through third grade with a plan for expansion to 600 students through ninth grade by 2036. We feature a computer lab (a rarity in a small elementary school like ours), a high-quality playground, small class sizes, a healthy meal program, highly-educated teachers, and transport services. Many donors have helped us get to this point already, and the school launched with the financial backing of Ndoto.

The Ndoto Academy business plan (available at length here) predicts that the school will be entirely self-supporting through student tuition payments by 2029. Fundraising in the US funds construction and capital improvements in order to keep the tuition affordable for the community. We are encouraging critical thinking, creative problem solving, collaboration, community, a service mindset, and high character in our students. At the same time, we are emphasizing true Christian discipleship.

Since 2023, we have been working on a master plan for the Ndoto compound to meet the needs of all of our growing ministries.

Phase Zero: 2022-2024 - Four semi-permanent classrooms, computer lab, two vans, dining hall, kitchen, playground, and garage. Completed at a total cost of $107,250.

Phase One: 2025-2026 - Three-story building with eight classrooms and a lab, permanent large dining hall and kitchen. Provides for up to 250 total students.

Phase Two: 2028 and beyond - Additional three-story building with fifteen more classrooms. Provides for up to 550 total students.

Phase Three: Future - Replace semi-permanent classrooms with two-story building with eight classrooms. Provides for up to 680 total students.

We are fundraising for Phase One of our Campus Dream. The total construction budget is $301,000, and an adjoining piece of land is available to us for $31,000, which will allow us to continue our expansion. Additional project finishing, such as fencing and landscaping, will be about $58,000. This gives us a total Phase One budget of $390,000.
